Finout's Detection Agent finds cloud and AI waste and anomalies across your whole bill, using your rules, so no savings slip through and no one has to hunt for them.
At a Glance
The Finout Detection Agent is an AI agent for FinOps that continuously scans your cloud and AI spend for waste and anomalies. You decide what counts as waste, such as idle resources, oversized instances or databases paying for extended support, and where to look. The agent does the hunting and hands you a ranked list of Findings worth acting on.
Cloud and AI spend keeps growing. FinOps teams don't. Every idle instance, oversized database or forgotten GPU fleet is money leaving the business, and someone has to find it first.
Today, that someone usually works from a fixed list of recommendations. The trouble is that a fixed rule doesn't know your business:
The result is predictable. Teams learn to ignore the list, real savings slip through, and the FinOps team goes back to hunting for waste by hand.
We built the Detector so that every company can define waste its own way, and then stop looking for it by hand. It's now available in Beta.
Instead of one fixed rule set for everyone, you set rules that match how you run. The Detector scans for any type of waste you care about:
You tune each one: the metric and threshold, how far back to look, how much headroom to keep, and which resources are in scope. Exclude disaster recovery, target production only, or narrow it to one team.
Every match becomes a Finding: one item with its resource and its potential savings. Findings sit in a single queue, ranked by savings, and each one is tracked from Open to Fixed or Dismissed.
Because the Detector runs on Finout, it sees every cost in MegaBill and your business context in Virtual Tags. A Finding isn't just "this instance is idle." Along with our Investigation Agent, each Finding paints the full picture: "this instance, owned by this team, in this environment, is costing you this much."
The Detection Agent is the first step in a loop. The Detector finds the waste, the Investigator explains it and finds the owner, and the Orchestrator (coming soon) gets the owner to act on it, with customizable levels of automation built in.
Any tool can produce a list of recommendations. Finout knows what each one costs in business terms, who owns it and how your teams define waste. That context is what turns a list your teams ignore into Findings they act on, so your FinOps practice can grow with your cloud and AI spend while keeping your team lean.
