Dark Mode Is Here: Introducing Appearance Settings in Finout

FinOps teams live in their cost platform all day, every day. So we're rolling out a small change that makes that time a little easier on the eyes: Appearance settings, now in beta.

You can now choose how Finout looks: Light, Dark, or System, which automatically matches whatever theme your operating system is already set to. It's a personal preference, not an account-wide one. Each person on your team picks their own setting, and it only changes their own view. Nobody else's Finout changes when you flip the switch.

How To Turn On Dark Mode

Setting your appearance takes a few seconds:

1. Click your name or avatar in the top-right corner of Finout to open the user menu. Find the Appearance row. You'll see three icons: Light mode (sun), Dark mode (moon), and System mode (monitor).
2. Click the icon for the theme you want.

That's it. The interface switches immediately, and your preference is saved. It'll be there the next time you log in, too.

Why It Matters

Dark mode isn't just aesthetic. For teams staring at dashboards, unit economics, and cost breakdowns for hours at a time, especially in low-light rooms or late-night incident reviews, a lot of people simply prefer working in a dark interface. And because it's a personal setting, everyone on your team can work the way they prefer, whether that's light, dark, or whatever their OS already does.

Appearance settings are live now in beta. Log in to Finout, click your avatar, and pick your theme.
